Habits
-lives a solitary life in treetops of the rainforest
-rarely descend to ground (except male)
-active during daylight
-at night females and young sleep in nest
-males sleep on ground do to weight
-sleep on side, arms as head cushion
-non-sociable
-male territorial
Food and Feeding
-eat fruit, nuts, leaves, bark, insects, and eggs
-may remain in one place for a long time if food is plentiful
-have ability to memorize the geographical surroundings and will travel great distances to find ripe fruit
-when thirsty find hallow trees with water in it that has collected from past rain storms
-fruit makes up half the diet
Breeding
-male may have large breeding area and breed with lots of females
-mating occurs year round
-females give birth to single offspring every 3-6 years
-baby grows slowly
-baby stays with the mother until she gives birth again
-no more then five pounds when born
-female may only succeed in raising two of three babies
